High school students invited to register for summer media workshop

Every summer, high school students from across the United States learn in-demand media production skills at the High School Media Workshop at Ohio University.

Presented by the School of Media Arts and Studies in OHIO’s Scripps College of Communication, this summer’s workshop will be held June 25-29, 2025. All high school students who love to create media are invited to attend this fun and educational event.

The High School Media Workshop is a hands-on creative opportunity for participants to explore their production passion.

Students entering grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 in fall 2025 are eligible to enroll. In addition, recent high school graduates who would like to have an on-campus experience before starting college in the fall are also eligible to attend.

The overnight, on-campus experience will allow students to work side-by-side to create original work in OHIO studios and lab spaces.

Participants will choose from the following session topics during the week:

  • Video production - story development, digital cinematography, and post-production
  • Music production and technology
  • Animation
  • Audio for cinema

The workshop includes overnight accommodations and dining on campus to immerse participants in the Ohio University student environment.

You can register for the workshop and learn more about it here. Registration closes on Sunday, May 4, at 11:59 p.m.
