Office of Information Technology sharpens focus on enterprise services to meet evolving University needs

As part of its continued commitment to serving the evolving needs of the University community, Ohio University’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) has announced a strategic realignment of its staffing and resources. This effort is designed to address rising costs while positioning OIT to support ongoing digital modernization and emerging opportunities for innovation.

The realignment will allow OIT to:

  • Focus resources on enterprise-wide IT services that deliver the greatest institutional impact.
  • Streamline processes, reduce duplication, and strengthen shared, scalable solutions.
  • Build new capacity and career opportunities in areas of growing importance, including data governance and IT relationship management.

For most students, faculty, and staff, OIT service levels will remain unchanged during this transition. However, several employee roles have been reassigned or, in some cases, eliminated where OIT’s work has fundamentally changed or priorities have shifted. Impacted staff have been encouraged to apply for open positions resulting from this change.

As OIT works to position itself for stronger, more sustainable support across the University, the division remains committed to collaborating with campus partners and continuing to learn how best to meet their technology needs.
