OHIO Online to host online education symposium on Oct. 10

OHIO Online will host the inaugural Online @ OHIO Symposium, a day to recognize and elevate the faculty and staff who are shaping online education at Ohio University.
Set for Oct. 10, this event will showcase the creativity, commitment and expertise of the Ohio University community while exploring how online education advances OHIO’s mission and strengthens the student experience.
The day’s highlight will be a keynote presentation titled “Death and the Printers: Looking to the Past for the Future of Higher Education,” by Dr. William Kuskin, chair of the English Department at the University of Colorado Boulder. With more than two decades of leadership in digital education—including launching one of UC Boulder’s most innovative online master’s programs—Dr. Kuskin brings a national perspective on how institutions can innovate while honoring their traditions.
Alongside the keynote, the symposium will feature welcome remarks from Executive Vice President and Provost Donald J. Leo, a panel of OHIO’s Online program directors, a Center for Teaching, Learning and Assessment (CTLA) session on AI in online teaching, and lunch and learn sessions showcasing OHIO’s own online innovations. In addition, interactive table talks and discussions will provide space to share ideas, highlight successes, and strengthen our collective voice in online education.
