OHIO announces Paint the Town Green challenge winners

Ohio University and the city of Athens celebrated Homecoming 2025 in style.

Students, faculty, staff and community organizaions decorated their residence halls, offices and businesses as part of the Paint the Town Green challenge.

This year, 15 OHIO departments, 10 residence halls, and 4 Athens businesses participated in the Homecoming decorating contest. The contest was divided up into the following categories:

• Departments
• Residence Halls
• Athens Businesses

The decorations added to the Bobcat spirit on  campus and in the community, and impressed the judges of this year’s competition.

“What I loved most about judging Paint the Town Green was seeing how each department expressed their Bobcat pride in their own unique way,” said Ella Karagosian, assistant director of alumni success and one of the judges of the competition.

“From bold designs to thoughtful details, every display reflected the heart and creativity that make Ohio University so special,” Karagosian said. “As a recent alum and staff member, it reminded me how proud I am to be a part of this Bobcat community!"
