Students help shape Scripps pride with new t-shirt design
Scripps College of Communication faculty and staff will sport a new look this year thanks to a student-designed T-shirt created by Kayla Payne, who won the college’s 2025 T-shirt design contest.
Scripps student Kayla Payne, who is a junior studying Information Graphics and Publication Design in the School of Visual Communication won the college’s 2025 T-shirt design contest, earning a $100 prize and a complimentary shirt featuring her winning artwork.
The Dean’s Office invited more than 2,000 Scripps students to submit designs earlier this year, encouraging them to showcase how they would represent the college’s programs. The winning design was selected by Dean Scott Titsworth.
“The goal was to connect our students’ creativity with the pride our faculty and staff feel for Scripps,” Dean Scott Titsworth said. “It’s a small but powerful reminder that we all contribute to what makes this college special.”
Each year, Scripps provides branded items to its faculty and staff as a way to celebrate shared identity and pride in the college. This year’s shirt adds a student’s creative voice to that tradition.
