New Directory website features redesigned faculty, staff profiles
Ohio University’s University Communications and Marketing (UCM) Web Team has launched a new Directory website featuring redesigned faculty and staff profiles.
This launch marks the completion of a comprehensive initiative announced in spring 2026 to enhance OHIO’s digital presence and improve how people and expertise are showcased online.
All profiles throughout the website are now managed through a centralized system, allowing a single profile to appear across multiple ohio.edu websites. This approach has consolidated over 1,000 duplicate entries and will make it easier to keep information accurate and consistent across the University’s web presence. The redesigned profiles also better highlight faculty and staff accomplishments, expertise and professional information while providing a more modern, accessible user experience.
Offices, colleges and other University units may notice their employee listing pages also received a facelift, which was in the scope of this project. In many cases, these new listings also feature a new faculty/staff filter and a search bar, in addition to the redesigned profile cards. (Example: College of Business faculty and staff directory)
Profile URLs and redirects
With the launch of this new system, all faculty and staff profiles have new URLs. Faculty and staff who have shared their profile on business cards or other materials may submit a redirect request to send their old URL to their new directory site URL. By default, previous profile URLs now redirect to www.ohio.edu/directory unless an individual redirect request has been submitted.
Faculty and staff are also encouraged to submit any content updates to their profiles, including new or higher-resolution headshots.
All ohio.edu website administrators have received communications about this project with more details about back-end specifics.
