How to create strong passwords

At Ohio University, members of our community are given an OHIO ID that grants them access to a variety of University resources.

In addition, most people likely have other accounts with many other services online. As a first line of defense for keeping these accounts secure, it's important to to create a strong password.

In order to help students, faculty and staff create strong passwords, Ohio University’s Information Security Office has put together a webpage filled with helpful information. 

The page provides information on strong password rules, including what passwords to avoid. The page also provides information on safe password practices, including information on password managers.
