Grants 101 workshops coming in October

Faculty, post docs and doctoral students who want to know more about the grants process at Ohio University are invited to join the Grants 101 learning series.

Jointly sponsored by the Division of Research and Creative Activity and the Office of the Provost, the series comprises five, 50-minute virtual sessions on Teams during October and November. The goal of the workshop series is to assist faculty success with understanding how to find opportunities, write proposals and apply for external funding. Specific topics include:

Introduction to Grants
Grant Writing Basics
Budget Development
Finding Grant Funding
Post Award Management

All full-time faculty, including those new to OHIO, are welcome to join the workshop series. Because the discussions and learning outcomes are focused on research, scholarship and creative activity (RSCA), faculty with RSCA responsibilities are strongly encouraged to participate.

Post doctoral associates and doctoral students may register with a justification from their supervisory / Ph.D. mentor. Participants are encouraged but not required to attend all five workshops. Participants who attend at least four of five workshops will be provided with a letter of completion for his/her files. Participants must register for the workshop to receive access to the workshop resources.

The Fall 2026 series will be offered weekly on Thursdays from 12:10 – 1 p.m. between Oct. 22 and Nov. 19.
