Revised IRB Initial Submission Form now in place at OHIO
Ohio University’s Office of Research Compliance launched a revised IRB Initial Submission Form on Oct. 13.
The revised form is designed to tailor the questions to the type of IRB review being requested. As a result, submissions requesting exempt review will look different from those requesting expedited or full board review. It is important that researchers select the correct review category when beginning a submission, as the selected category will determine which questions and information are required.
The goal of these changes is to further streamline the exempt submission process and support more efficient reviews. By collecting information that is specific to the applicable review category, the Office of Research Compliance hopes to make the submission process more straightforward for researchers, reduce unnecessary questions for exempt studies and ultimately facilitate faster exempt determinations and an improved researcher experience.
These changes do not impact currently approved IRB submissions or those that have been started.
