
OHIO faculty invited to social events, seminar series

The Center for Teaching and Learning Assessment and the Division of Research and Creative Activity look forward to welcoming new faculty to OHIO during the first of three social events planned for the Fall 2025 semester.
On Monday, Sept. 29, from 4-6 p.m. new faculty/research staff (faculty/research staff with appointments beginning August 2024 thru present) are invited to mix and mingle and meet established faculty who are AI experts (AI pedagogy, instructional tools, research – basic and applied).
The social will be held at the 1804 Lounge in the Baker University Center. Refreshments will be served (come early, they will go fast). This is a private, faculty/research staff-only event.
Save the dates for these upcoming events:
- Oct. 29, from 4-6 p.m. Alden Library and Division of Research and Creative Activity host the second New Faculty Social in the Alden Library, 1951 Lounge. This is a private, faculty/research staff-only event.
- Nov. 12, from– 4-6 p.m. the Innovation Center will host the third New Faculty Social at the Innovation Center, 340 West State Street, Athens. This is a private, faculty/research staff only event.
Grants 101 seminar series
The Office of Research Development within the Division of Research and Creative Activity is pleased to offer the GRANTS 101 seminar series. The series consists of five weekly, virtual webinars held on consecutive Fridays beginning Oct. 10 thru Nov. 7, 11:50 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Webinar dates and topics:

- Oct. 17, 2025: Grant Writing Basics
- Oct. 24, 2025: Finding Grant Funding
- Oct. 31, 2025: Budget Development
- Nov. 7, 2025: Post Award Management
